Leadership for Change is an education programme from The Economist Educational Foundation, in partnership with Rolex. Designed by expert teachers in collaboration with world-leading journalists and fact-checkers from The Economist newspaper, it equips 10- to 16-year-olds with key critical-thinking, creative problem-solving and communication skills.
Leadership for Change is an education programme from The Economist Educational Foundation, in partnership with Rolex. Designed by expert teachers in collaboration with world-leading journalists and fact-checkers from The Economist newspaper, it equips 10- to 16-year-olds with key critical-thinking, creative problem-solving and communication skills.
Leadership for Change is comprised of three pillars, or core activities:
Curriculum;
Six one-hour lessons designed to equip students with the tools and knowledge to lead change in their communities.
Live lesson;
An exciting live lesson will be run on November 13th 2024. The lesson will take place online at 10am and 3pm (GMT) to accommodate different time zones. Students will take part in interactive activities and hear from inspiring leaders.
Competition;
Students can enter their own "Project for Change". Three projects will receive funding and mentorship to make them a reality.

Your school could win...
- Up to £1,000 funding for the winning school to deliver the chosen "Project for Change"
- Three mentorship video calls for students from an experienced leader between January and June 2025
- The publication of the winning project on the Topical Talk website
- An award for each winning student
